Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps is hosting a free Opioid Overdose Prevention Training sponsored by the New York State Department of Health. This program educates community members on how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and respond quickly using life-saving interventions, including the administration of naloxone (Narcan). Participants will learn practical skills to help save a life in an emergency and will receive a free naloxone kit upon completion of the training. This course is open to the public and is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to respond effectively to an opioid overdose.

The New York State Department of Health's Opioid Overdose Centers for Public Education aim to combat the opioid crisis by educating the public on opioid risks, recognizing overdose symptoms, and administering naloxone, a life-saving antidote. All participants will be provided with Narcan (naloxone) once the course is completed.
