ACLS is an advanced classroom course highlighting the importance of team dynamics and communication, care systems, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. This course teaches skills in large group sessions and small group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. Students completing this course will be eligible to receive 12 Advanced CEUs through CAPCE. You must have a current CPR card to take this course.

This course is exclusively taught by Commack Ambulance's Clinical Instructors as it is one of a kind! We strongly encourage school teachers, physical trainers, and anyone who works with the general public take this class. The course combines the Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course with an in-depth educational experience for recognizing patients exhibiting signs of a stroke, seizure, diabetic emergency, and opioid overdose. All participants will be equipped with Narcan (naloxone) and a disposable CPR Face Shield!

First on the Scene (FOTS), created by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), offers basic emergency response training to the general public. This program equips individuals to handle life-threatening emergencies until professional emergency medical services (EMS) arrive, using a combination of lesson presentations and hands-on skill stations.

The New York State Department of Health's Opioid Overdose Centers for Public Education aim to combat the opioid crisis by educating the public on opioid risks, recognizing overdose symptoms, and administering naloxone, a life-saving antidote. All participants will be provided with Narcan (naloxone) once the course is completed.

This classroom course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the essential concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved conditions. Students completing this course will be eligible to receive 14.25 Advanced CEUs through CAPCE.
